Provide virtual
conferencing services by hosting ad-hoc or scheduled
conferences with multiple parties, using voice, video
or Instant Messaging applications with Genico™
MConferencing. You can host and manage
conferencing services for voice, video and IM sessions
including shared applications for corporate subscriber’s
employees and colleagues in a secure and convenient
manner, anywhere, anytime.
How
is this service different?
The firewall Network Address Translation
(NAT) issue is the main reason which has held back
telecommunication operators and service providers
from offering IP conferencing services. It prevents
the use of data networks as a conferencing medium.
Firewalls are deployed by subscribers to protect their
network against unauthorized access. However, firewalls
control the communication flow between their corporate
network and the Internet. The firewall’s goal
is to safeguard the corporate environment and prevent
unauthorized access on the local network. This restriction
usually rejects video, voice and IM conferencing traffic.
NAT technology is used to overcome this restriction
by sharing one IP address to hide the internal network
structure. When using NAT, all PCs on the network
appear as one but this renders it impossible to route
traffic from an external location on the Internet
to a desired location on the corporate network for
conferencing sessions.
